Natural Artificial Light
January 2, 2012 in General, Photograph, Photographer, Shoot by William
I was looking at a picture from a year ago. One thing struck me about a shoot where I struggled and struggled with lighting. It was a bar with lots of mirrors and lasers zipping around. In my frustration I pull one of the male models to a loading dock door and used the bulb above his head to create a butterfly effect. Here I was struggling to create an effect that was right in front of me if I allowed myself to see it. I have to remind myself that sometimes I too quickly dismiss a simple solutions in favor of a more complicated riskier solution. Nevertheless, I still love this shot, even if I only captured the natural artificial light.
